Banner

The Hart Senate Building in Washington D.C. is the site of a demonstration when police stop protesters from unfurling a banner that reads, "Tax The Rich - End War Now."  First a tug of war ensues over the banner.  Whereupon, people in the corridors join in chanting, "End War Now!  Tax the Rich!" and "We ARE the 99%!"

The banner eventually confiscated by the officer, the banner wavers are given a standard 3 strikes and you're out warning.  As the crowd continues to chant, however, and similar banners and signs unfurl, the policeman tells everyone to "cease and desist" or they "will be arrested."

Occupy Boston has updated arrest figures on the brutal 1:30 A.M. police raid to 141.  A non-violent veteran is on video being thrown to the ground multiple times.  Legal observers and medics were  uncharacteristically detained.

On the Brooklyn Bridge, police also uncharacteristically arrested journalists and attorneys.

The tent issue intrigued me since Sam Cohen, Civil Rights Attorney mentioned N.Y.C. ordinance issues pertaining to tent height.  Or perhaps you also read about Ketchup's sleeping bag in Why the Elites Are In Trouble.  Ya know, what happens when bitter N.Y.C. winters blow in?  And what kind of irrational nation do we live in, when people sleeping outdoors are bound by law to sleep without a roof during winter because a tent's height exceeds a city's ordinance?

"How low can a tent go?" I wondered, so I visited R.E.I.

Boston police accoust and arrest 100 veterans, medics, protesters, and legal observers at 1:30 A.M. Occupy Boston describes department behavior as brutal and indiscriminate.

Occupy Portland (Maine) reaches an agreement with the city to stake tents.

Occupy Wall Street marches on the homes of wealthy executives.

Corporate owned, non-independent media continues to ignore the message, while spinning protesters as anarchistic, disorganized milquetoast.

The British also called the revolting American colonists a "rag tag mob" of "anarchists." (Though unlike the linked blogger, I think the protesters are right where they lay the blame.  Most of our politicians are bought and controlled by Wall Street.)
