Long-time activist and whistle-blower Daniel Ellsberg expresses appreciation to Ecuador for standing up to self-anointed empires and monarchs. Legal analysts for Julian Assange state that Swedish authorities could easily settle allegations in London, thereby freeing Mr. Assange to leave the U.K. for Ecuador. Alternatively, a lengthy stand-off seems likely since the U.K. cannot simply "storm" Ecuador's embassy without first legally abolishing the embassy's status altogether.
